Candling Eggs

Today we watched our GROWING chicks by candling our eggs! We simply used the flashlight on my phone. Out of 21 eggs, we saw 19 dancing chicks inside their eggs…2 eggs had no chick inside…they glowed all the way through! We have 6 more days until they begin hatching and we can hardly wait to sing Happy Birthday to our little chickadees!!!

We have had SO MANY engaging conversations throughout this classroom experience. We’ve made more connections than I can count…between food groups, a large variety of other oviparous animals, and life cycles of all kinds. And BEST OF ALL our lessons have crossed over all of our curricular areas…making our connections STRONGER and more meaningful!candling eggs

If you haven’t ever hatched eggs in your classroom, you should DEFINITELY plan it for next year!!!
